Do I need a hub to use Shelly?
No. Every Shelly device has Wi-Fi built in and pairs directly with the Shelly app — no hub, no bridge, no subscription. For larger installs you can route them through Home Assistant or a Matter controller if you prefer local-only.
Will Shelly work with my existing wall switch?
Yes. Shelly relays are designed to sit behind the wall switch you already have — they take the same feed and let your existing switch keep working as a manual override. No rewiring of the room is required.
Do I need an electrician?
For mains installs (switches, dimmers, PM devices), yes — we strongly recommend a licensed electrician. Battery-powered sensors (BLU and H&T ranges) install in seconds with zero wiring.
What happens if my Wi-Fi drops?
Schedules, scenes, and automations continue running locally on the device. The wall switch keeps working. When the network comes back, the device reconnects and resumes cloud reporting automatically.
Is the app free?
Yes. iOS and Android apps are free, no subscription. Cloud control, historical data, and alerts are included with every device.
How long is the warranty?
24 months on every product. If anything fails under normal use, we replace it — the serial number is tied to your purchase automatically.
